Arthur Secunda combines his passion for landscapes with familiar icons. Known for his interest in landscapes, Arthur Secunda has consistently explored the vagaries of the weather and its effect on the environment. In doing so, Secunda has developed his own iconography in representing nature, the land and its forms, as well as corresponding inner landscapes.

Colores by Wilde Meyer features an adventuresome and eclectic collection of contemporary fine art. The many fine artists who are represented include, well-known figurative painter Linda CarterHolman, Southwestern landscape artist Alix Stefan, abstract paintings by Ryan Hale and Contemporary southwest narrative paintings by Thom Ross. Colorist and animal painter Mitch Henderson and are also represented. The fabulous art is displayed in a setting of beautiful Asian antiques.

During the month of April Duley-Jones Gallery will introduce the work of Canadian artist Irene Klar. People, textiles and pattern decorations serve as inspiration for her watercolors. As she travels the world, textile designs from many different cultures appear in her work. Often featuring Northwest Coast and Southwestern indigenous women wrapped in their colorful blankets, her work is rich in vivid hues and an explosion of patterns.

This is the title Linda Carter Holman has given her annual show at Wilde Meyer Gallery in Scottsdale. I understand the “Cowgirls and Latin Ladies" part; Linda has created some memorable ladies in her 38 years of painting, but what is a “narrative self-portrait?”

William Dorsey Exhibition
May 4-11, 2008

View the works of William Dorsey at the exhibit opening on Thursday, May 4, 2008, from 7 – 9 p.m. Dorsey is currently a California oil painter of the plein-air genre and is best known for his western landscapes, vistas of Santa Barbara and Carmel, and his Alaska landscapes. His paintings have a classic appeal, reminiscent of many turn-of-the-century painters.

Ed Copley Exhibition
June 5-12, 2008

Copley is well known for his representational style of painting that draws together many techniques dating back to the Renaissance. Copley is also known for his authentic representations of Native American tribes, which he researches in depth to ensure that the detail in each of his compositions is accurate.
